Hobart M. Cable Console Piano with hinged seat bench.  Made in USA circa 1957 and purchased from Strawbridge & Clothier, Philadelphia PA in 1958.  Mahogany case.  Traditional design.  Excellent condition.  It measures: 371/2" tall,  24" deep and 58" wide.  Compact size will fit in any room.  This piano has been in one family only, and very well cared for.  All it needs is a bit of tuning and a loving home.

 

Background on the brand:  The Hobart M. Cable Co. of Laporte, Indiana  manufactured their pianos in the USA from 1900 to 1960.  The Hobart M. Cable pianos of this period are remarkably sweet and pure in tone with unusual power. The construction of the piano is notable for its solidity and compactness.  The scale, which is the scientific basis of quality, is of the even, unbroken and satisfying kind that appeals to the trained musical ear. The Hobart M.
